Online Home Herbalist Apprentice: Recording

This is a recording of the live online course, so you will not be able to participate in the discussion, but for auditory learners and those who prefer to work through things on their own schedule it is a good fit.  You will receive assignments to accompany each class, as any student in the class does; these are to be posted in the student facebook group for community reflection, unless other arrangements are made in advance.

This course focuses on specific uses of herbs (Materia Medica), how they work in the body, basic physiology and disease process, contraindications, etc. organized by body system. We will dive deep into the interactions between body systems and how disparate symptoms can indicate deep-set imbalances.  Info Here

Japanese Knotweed Harvest Intensive: Recording

Learn to identify and harvest Japanese Knotweed.  Medicinal uses, preparation techniques, culinary use, and wild-crafting ethics are discussed, with a special focus on Lyme disease.

Advanced Tincture-Making Intensive: Recording

Master tincture-making in this in-depth class!  We will focus on important concepts such as solubility to make reliably effective tinctures at home.  Principles of formulation will also be discussed, so students learn how to combine tinctures effectively.

Bark Harvest Intensive

This all-day class provides a rare opportunity to experience educational wildcrafting.  We will learn to identify and harvest a selection of the following trees: willow, prickly ash, witch hazel, birch, and/or cherry, based on seasonal availability.  Wildcrafting methods and ethics will be discussed, as well as bark processing techniques and medicinal uses for your family’s health.  Participants take home plenty of processed bark.  Please sign up early as this class tends to fill up!

Japanese Barberry Harvest Intensive

This all-day class provides a rare opportunity to experience educational wildcrafting.  We will learn to identify and harvest Japanese Knotweed.  Medicinal uses, preparation techniques, culinary use, and wildcrafting ethics will be discussed.  Participants take home plenty of processed roots.  Please sign up early as this class tends to fill up!  Sign up period for this class closes 1 week prior to class.
